Early warning systems

early warning systems are a necessity to every day life. think about it. we all have smoke alarms to warn us at night, but what do we do if there is a fire in public? considering that Australia is the worlds most bushfire prone country! imagine the consequences if a fire struck australia that was as deadly as the 2004 tsunami off the coast of indonesia. the death toll hit well over 220 thousand people and many more animals! this would be the worst disaster in australian history.

bushfires

The most threatening disaster in Australia has got to be the bushfire. Australia is known for its bushfires and the death toll they come with. Especially in Victoria where fires regularly destroy cities and towns. Australia simply needs an early warning system for bush fires. We cannot continue to lose lives a a ridiculous rate. Australia is a rich country. We should not have trouble paying for or setting up these systems.

Current systems

there are many current systems to prevent death and/or injury but there is still a death toll. this should not be the case with extensive warning systems. These can include automatic text message senders, which send a message to every phone in the disaster region, based on gps position, or sirens mounted on telegraph poles, which blast when there is danger of any natural or man made disaster, or radio broadcasts that can intercept any station and tell people how to get out of there and to stay calm. These along with others are a necessary investment for many countries and regions

Why Australia?

why does australia have most of the world's bushfires?
this is because of our hot, dry and arid climate, this along with the fact that eucalypt forests and some of the driest in the world, means that Australia has a lot of bushfires.

A bushfire safe house

there is alot to be considered with a bushfire safe house, and with some areas, it is compulsary to get it to comply with bushfire safe area code. Keeping your home and family safe from bushfire involves many things. This includes choosing where to build your home on your property, the materials you use to build, the design of your house and landscaping can all be factors in defending your home during a bushfire.
Planning the landscaping around your home will improve your chances of protecting your home during a bushfire. This refers to the location and maintenance of selected plant species surrounding your buildings.
When correctly managed this can:
Reduce fire intensity
Wind speed
Deflect and filter embers
Provide shelter from radiant heat

Why you and me need one

we all need early warning systems and a failure to do so can and will cause mass death and destruction, so we all need to take the right action and convince the goverment to get one for the good of us and for the good of our children, grand children and many generations to come. This will be a choice Australia will not regret. In addition to this with the ever-growing issue of gobal warning facing us, we need to install these if we know what is good for us!
